Ithmid Surma is the best type of Kohl/ Kajal to be used on eyes, it cleanses your eyes from harmful substances. It is also a natural remedy to reduce eye strain and it helps in improving and growing the length of eye lashes.

It is made from antimony which carries many health benefits for the eyes. It can be applied on the eyelids and waterline of the eyes.

Benefits

As the prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) instructed, using kohl that is made from ithmid carries with it many benefits. The main benefit is that it is reported to maintain and improve eye sight. It also stimulates the growth of the eyelashes.

Ithmid kohl is also said to cleanse the eyes of impurities, reduce the skin flap growing on the eyelid and prevents dandruff in the eyebrow area. It is also known to help reduce headaches, eye soreness and light sensitivity. It is even reported that it may aid in the treatment of ocular diseases and conditions such as conjunctivitis, corneal ulcers and cataracts. Additionally, it is believed that kohl helps the body produce and regulate nitric oxide, which has a number of health benefits. Note that just because a rock is from the same family, it does not mean it will have the same properties, as rocks from different areas can be very different at the micro level.

Precautions

Ithmid (kohl) is a natural substance and has been used for over 15 centuries without any health problems. It is not harmful for the eyes, especially if it is applied properly. If kohl was dangerous to the eye, it would not have survived for this long in the Arabian peninsula.

Iitmid is a natural substance which is extracted from a variety of sources. The colour, texture and the effect of it on the eye varies even between rocks which are considered to be the same (allotropy).

The ahadith tell us to use only kohl made from ithmid. The reason is that only ithmid kohl can benefit the eyes in the way described in the ahadith. Moreover, kohl made from other substances may harm the eyes in the long run, for example, by causing nitric oxide to build up in the eye. This is because nitric oxide can cause damage to the cornea, thus affecting the sight.

Ingredients

Al Asmad Kuhl Surma is made from the natural mineral called antimony which is ground into a fine powder and mixed with other ingredients to make a smooth paste that can be used on the eyes as eyeliner. This is also known as kohl and kajal and it is used for both aesthetic and medicinal purposes.

It is said that the prophet sallallaahu alihi wa sallam used to apply ithmid surma on his eyes at night before sleeping. This is a sunnah that everyone should follow as it has many benefits.

It is recommended that the kohl should be applied to the waterline of the eye and also above it and below it. This way it will protect the eyes from the harmful effects of glare of the sun and artificial lights, dust particles and smoke of pollution. It also keeps the eyes cool and hydrated. This prevents the eye from dryness, irritation, itching and burning sensations. It also reduces the skin flap growing on the eyelid and helps to keep it supple. It relaxes the eyes from eyestrain, headaches and insomnia. It also enhances the beauty and charm of the eyes.

Application

As you may know that the Prophet (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) used to apply ithmid kohl to his eyes before going to sleep. This is a very important sunnah that we should all try to follow as it is very beneficial for the eyes.

It helps to cleanse the eyes of dirt, dust and germs which can lead to eye infections in the long run. It also brightens the eyes and enhances eye lashes growth. It also detoxifies and cleanses the moisture of the eyes and eases congestion in tear ducts.

Another benefit of ithmid kohl is that it absorbs harmful UV rays from the sunlight which can cause macular degeneration and cataracts in the long run. It is recommended to splash the eyes with water and then apply ithmid kohl before going to bed for best results. This is especially helpful for those who live in sunny areas or work outside. It is recommended to apply ithmid kohl on the inside of the lid as well to prevent the kohl from rubbing off.
